Big Shot Birthday!

Here's a big shot birthday card for you! Isn't it cute! I love my big shot and all of the things you can do!
I used the scallop square for the card base, make sure you put the folded end just a bit below the scallops and you have a perfect card base. After that I ran the card through the big shot using the dots backgrounds 1 texture plate. I made the cupcake using the big bold cupcakes sizzlits dies.

I'm back!

I'm finally back, sorry its been so long! I've been home enjoying having my hubby home! He left to go back to work overseas about a week ago and so I'm getting back into doing my favorite past time... stamping. I attended Stampin' Up's Cincinnati Regional Seminar for Demonstrators last weekend and I had soo much fun I've spent every spare moment since stamping, not that I have that many 'spare moments' but the ones I've had they have been spent stamping! I came back from regionals totally inspired! Good thing too, with Christmas coming up I'm going to need a lot of something to stamp out 100 Christmas cards!!

Here are a few cards I've done over the past few weeks,

This card uses the Petal Pizazz stamp set and the retired In Colors.
This card features the NEW In Colors and uses Bugs and Kisses and Eastern Blooms Stamp sets. This paper is from the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP.
Last but not least a very simple Monochromatic card using the new Medallion stamp and the Rose Red flowers from the Flower Fusion Accents & Elements Tin.

Happy Stamping!

B is for birthday

Just a quick post today as my kids are very impatiently waiting to go out and play. This is a card I made for my cousin's birthday this past weekend. Using Classic Stars Jumbo wheel and the Party Hearty stamp set this card was super simple and I got to use my new Jumbo Grommets and Star brads.
If you haven't tried out the new grommets from SU these are awesome and really easy, just poke it through and push the sides over kinda like you do with a brad. My smaller star brad fit perfectly in the middle, I can't wait to use it on some more projects and cards!

I'm off to go enjoy the sunshine! Happy Stampin'!

Nouveau Chic

Hello again! This is a card I just made last week. I used the New Nouveau Chic Designer Series Paper for the first time and this is what I came up with!
The colors used on this card are Sage Shadow, Basic Black, Basic Grey and Whisper White. I used my Stamp a ma jig for the daisy's to get the shadowed look. I tied a piece of the Sage Shadow 1/4" grosgrain ribbon and taped the ends behind it, layering it on top of a Basic Grey Corduroy button with a glue dot.

I got a big shot!!

Man the days just fly by in the summer! I can't seem to keep up, I'm having too much fun in the sun! Since I've abandoned you all a little to long, I'll make it up with a few cards today! This first one is from a challenge I did where you can only use one embellishment and NO layers!! Kinda scary huh! Once I got started it wasn't so bad!
I used the neighborhood wheel and the welcome comes from the Warm Words stamp set. I used the wheel on a piece of scrap Whisper White and colored the house with Stampin' Pastels and cut it out. I used stampin' dimensionals to adhere to the card.
I just recently got the big shot!!! It is so much cooler then I ever could have imagined! I absolutely love it!! This is the first card I made using the big shot and the Elegant Bouquet textured embossing plate. I used a little crystal effects and dazzling diamonds for the flower centers and my white gel pen to make some of the lines pop a little more! I also used a flower from my pretties kit along with a half pearl for the center!
The tutorial to do this card comes from Patty Bennett. Click on her name to see how to make this beautiful card! This Manhattan Impressions Die is just gorgeous and makes last minute cards a breeze!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stampin'!

Bugs & Kisses!

I hope you all had a wonderful forth of July weekend! Holidays are always a little sad for us with my husband gone but we had some fun too! We started off with our town Independence day parade and my kids were thrilled to get candy thrown at them! A lady in a statue of liberty costume came up to give my daughter a liberty crown and she totally freaked out and ran screaming! My kids aren't character friendly, they don't like any giant Mickey Mouse's coming their way either and I really don't blame them! This is a picture my sister-in-law took of us before we started doing sparklers and our little fireworks.
And the card I'm sharing today was a CASE (copy and share everything) from Jennifer Handschuh. My colors are a little different and I've added DSP from the newly retired Rainbow Sherbet. I love this Bugs & Kisses set and I'm glad to hang on to it a little longer!

Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Green Galore, Gable Green

Thanks for coming by today and Happy Stampin'!

Lots of Bots Issues!

As I was working on cards the other day for my Stamp a Stack, I had a heck of a time coming up with this one! I'm happy with what I came up with, it just took a few tries! I thought it'd' be fun to share how things go sometimes!
3rd times a charm! This card uses Taken With Teal, Basic Grey and Whisper White Cardstocks. Night of Navy 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. I used basic grey, taken with teal and night of navy classic inks and water-colored my bot using the ink well on the top of the Ink pad lid.
This was my 1st card attempt and it is ok, but I just don't love it. I was trying to CASE a card from the IB&C and just make it larger, but it just didn't go so great! This card uses Bashful Blue, Basic Grey & Whisper White.
My 2nd attempt, I was going for a bandaid look over on the left although it didn't look as great as I'd pictured in my head! This uses Tangerine Tango, Apricot Appeal and Sage Shadow.

If you do not have the 'NEW' Idea book & Catalog yet, I would love to get one to you! There are just so many wonderful new things in there!

~I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July weekend~

Cards were recieved!!

The cards left Ohio on June 17th, traveled over 7000 miles to Afganistan and arrived in my husbands hands yesterday! As you can see from the pictures they have already started to dig in!! According to William they are a huge hit and a big morale boost. They are very grateful and I think they are feeling the love!
Thank You Late Night Stampers! Without the amazing women from this very supportive group, I would have never got this together or had so many beautiful cards to send!
I am hoping to get more cards out to them soon as they seem to be going fast! Please let me know if you'd like to help out by donating card fronts to be converted, cards or envelopes. I am hoping to get enough for my husband to bring to other nearby bases.

I'll post some cards I've been making tomorrow!
Until then...

Cards for the Contractors in Afghanistan Sent!!

Again, I've waited too long to post! Its been one crazy week for me! I backed my van into our babysitters car and lost the keys to my husbands truck completely...I think our house ate them! Just in case you didn't know like me, its not that easy to get a key made, they have to program the key to your car..haha...so if you have no keys...you must get your car towed to the dealership or sweet talk the guys in charge! So be sure to have some spares! Crazy week!
In the midst of it all and with the help of my sister-in-law I was able to finish off organizing and sealing the cards in the plastic envies. The huge box of cards was sent out to Afghanistan a few days ago! And I mean HUGE...with the help of some wonderful stampers there was over 500 cards and the box was a whopping 27 pounds!!

I want to send out a very special thanks to everyone that helped:
THANK YOU!!
-Karen Reid from Arizona for donating cards
-Judy Jackson from Pennsylvania for donating cards
-Patty Bennett from California for donating cards (Well over 300 came from Patty!! I had never seen so many cards in my life! I'm a pretty new stamper but I can't imagine producing that many even with help, click her name to go to her site and see her wonderful group converting card fronts!)
-Susan Kubira who helps run an amazing organization called From Our Hearts they regularly send thousands of cards to the troops overseas. Her wonderful advice on sending cards overseas was extremely helpful!

For the next shipment of cards I am going to try and concentrate on some of the categories that were short when I sent this box. Please let me know if you would like to help!
Miss You Cards, Anniversary Cards, Congratulations Cards, Religious Cards, Get Well, Sympathy and upcoming Holidays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. Of course all other cards are welcomed as well! Even a donation of a box of envelopes or clear envelopes would be great! Eventually I am hoping to send out a similar box to the contractors in Iraq as well!

I'll be posting cards from my last swap in May featuring the Trendy Trees Set tomorrow!

Happy Stampin'!

love love love

This is the card I made today for Sudsol's Chat & Challenge, I must have Scarlet & Grey on the mind! I immediately went to Bravo Burgundy and Basic Grey! I had a wonderful day yesterday at the OSU stadium watching my cousin graduate! Although sitting in the blazing sun for 3 hours wasn't the most comfortable, the commencement speaker was THE John Glenn, it was pretty awesome to here his speech and it was a good one! I have never been to the stadium before so that was neat too! My husband is not such a fan...booo! Anyways on with the card...
I can't think of the name of the movie the love love love comes from but I always say it to my husband because it cracked me up so I used it on here by using my markers to color the love on the love you, I can't think of the movie for the life of me. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Now...Relax

Fathers Day is right around the corner and here is what I have made for my dad! I think its pretty manly and sooo him! I'm usually a day before kinda girl or even more likely the day of any occasion I'm rushing about wrapping, crafting and just trying to put something together! I'm so proud of myself for getting this done early!

I kept it easy with this card, Basic Black, Basic Grey and Very Vanilla! I used the Basic Grey DSP from Hostess Patterns Pack II and 4 of the brushed silver brads. I used the tag corner punch to make the tags for the inside and a little linen thread. Roughed up the sides a bit and Water-colored the words! Easy Peasy!

This set is such a great 'man' set! Thanks to my bloggin' star sister Lorita Edwards I was able to see just how fun it is! You see I was telling her how I liked her card and wished I would have got it and she sent me a bunch of stamped images from the set! How nice is that! Check out her card using this set here!
Thank You Lorita!!

In Colors 2009 sneak peek!!

Oh man, I can't believe its been so long! I'm sorry! Especially to my bloggin' stars group for going MIA on them!! I'm finally feeling better and back at it! My kids and I have been sick the past couple weeks and that on top of getting our house up for sale and normal day to day I haven't had much time for anything! Here are some cards I made using the NEW 2009-2010 In Colors, these use Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango! What do you think! I will really miss that baja breeze but I am really warming up to these In colors! These cards are going to a few wonderful ladies that have really helped out by donating cards for the Contractors in Afghanistan where my husband is, without them I'd still be at 25 cards! We are now closer to 150!!! (If this is you, close your eyes!)

Check out the DSP isn't it pretty and fun! It is called Razzleberry Lemonade and will be available to order July 1st! I also used the Upsy Daisy stamp, stamped in Melon Mambo and sponged with Rich Razzleberry. The wonderful is from the Warm Words set. This card came from a card I had that I know I cased just used different colors and greeting! I'm sorry but I can't for the life of me remember where or who came up with the layout, if its you let me know!
Happy Stampin'!
