Love you much Valentine

So that sketch challenge really got me going the other day.  I know I haven't posted but I've been busy!!  I decided to make 20 Valentine Cards in 2 days!  I did this to send over to Afghanistan to my husbands team for them to use.  I think the wives and girlfriends of these brave men will really love a personal card sent home for Valentines Day.  Here is one of the cards I made a bunch of, I will share more in the days to come!
I'm not sure what kind of fold this is called, but it is soo easy and I love the look it.  My card base is basic grey and measures 8.5" x 4.25" and scored at 3".  I used a 5.25"x4" piece of Sending Love Specialty Designer Paper to put on the inside portion.  I made a mini card to put on top of the Designer Paper in Basic Grey measuring 8" x 2.75" and folded in half.  on the 3" flap I used my I {Love} Love wheel on a 4" x 2.75" piece of Real Red cardstock.  I got lucky with the heart being near the middle when I did this and took advantage of it by adding the punched hearts to make it pop.  I didn't get so lucky on all of my cards!  On the front of the card I used a 3.75" x 2.5" piece of Real Red, you can't really tell but I ran this through the Big Shot for some texture using the small dots texture plate.  I wrapped the piece with a strip of Real Red Satin Ribbon and topped it off with the whisper white piece using the Pinking Hearts Border & Corner punches and the small heart punch(with crystal effects and dazzling diamonds)  The love you much stamp comes from the Well Scripted Set.
I hope you all are enjoying the weekend!

Blogger Sketch Challenge

I have dug out my stampin' supplies, dusted off my stamps and started my with this challenge as my first card in months!!!!  This Sketch Challenge was done by Lisa Somerville,  and this was just the thing to get me out of my funk!
There is nothing better then a good sketch to get moving along!  Here is what I came up with.
The first thing I thought of was to use my Vintage Vogue set because I really need to let some friends now how special they are to me:)  I grabbed my color coach and picked this creative combo from the Wild Wasabi card.  It uses Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron and of course Whisper White.  I used the Very Vintage Jumbo wheel in So Saffron to create the background on the Whisper White, and the Friendly Words Wheel in Perfect Plum for the So Saffron strip.  I cut out the flowers in the Vintage Vogue set and finished them off with a so saffron brad in the middle.

So great to be getting my stamps inky again!  Thank you Lisa for the inspiration to get me stampin'! Hopefully I will be back with more soon!

Here are some other entries to this challenge! Check them out by clicking on the the pictures.

Happy 4th! and a just buzzin by trifold card

I hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day, I know I did!  We had a great day with family eating yummy brats, doing lots of sparklers, and watching some great fireworks!  Independence day is one of my favorite holidays as we are quite patriotic and love our great country!  Sadly my husband missed out again this year celebrating with a little off time in the Middle East but hopefully he'll be home with us to enjoy the festivities next year!

and now.....here is a card that screams summer to me!  I love the new Daffodil Delight color and Pear Pizazz in color!  These paired with Baja Breeze and Real Red just scream happy summer!  Trifold cards are so much fun and I knew right away that I wanted to use the Just buzzin' by stamp set with the zigzag paper in the new Greenhouse Gala designer series paper pack.  So here is what I came up with....
Its hard to tell but I used the Very Vintage embossing folder on the Pear Pizazz cardstock with the colorful bees punched out using the 1" circle punch.  I cut out the honey pots and layered the flowers from the Boho Blossoms punch and finished them off with a real red brad.

STAMPS:  Just Buzzin' By

I made this card for the late night stampers vintage challenge. We were to make a card looking vintage using all current Stampin' Up product.  I love the vellum inside the scallop frame and the way the flowers turned out from the Birds & Bloom sizzlits dies.  I also sponged a little champaign mist shimmer paint onto the vellum to give a little dazzle along with the half pearls from the Pretties kit.

Big Shot Birthday!

Here's a big shot birthday card for you! Isn't it cute! I love my big shot and all of the things you can do!
I used the scallop square for the card base, make sure you put the folded end just a bit below the scallops and you have a perfect card base. After that I ran the card through the big shot using the dots backgrounds 1 texture plate. I made the cupcake using the big bold cupcakes sizzlits dies.

I'm back!

I'm finally back, sorry its been so long! I've been home enjoying having my hubby home! He left to go back to work overseas about a week ago and so I'm getting back into doing my favorite past time... stamping. I attended Stampin' Up's Cincinnati Regional Seminar for Demonstrators last weekend and I had soo much fun I've spent every spare moment since stamping, not that I have that many 'spare moments' but the ones I've had they have been spent stamping! I came back from regionals totally inspired! Good thing too, with Christmas coming up I'm going to need a lot of something to stamp out 100 Christmas cards!!

Here are a few cards I've done over the past few weeks,

This card uses the Petal Pizazz stamp set and the retired In Colors.
This card features the NEW In Colors and uses Bugs and Kisses and Eastern Blooms Stamp sets. This paper is from the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP.
Last but not least a very simple Monochromatic card using the new Medallion stamp and the Rose Red flowers from the Flower Fusion Accents & Elements Tin.

Happy Stamping!

B is for birthday

Just a quick post today as my kids are very impatiently waiting to go out and play. This is a card I made for my cousin's birthday this past weekend. Using Classic Stars Jumbo wheel and the Party Hearty stamp set this card was super simple and I got to use my new Jumbo Grommets and Star brads.
If you haven't tried out the new grommets from SU these are awesome and really easy, just poke it through and push the sides over kinda like you do with a brad. My smaller star brad fit perfectly in the middle, I can't wait to use it on some more projects and cards!

I'm off to go enjoy the sunshine! Happy Stampin'!

Nouveau Chic

Hello again! This is a card I just made last week. I used the New Nouveau Chic Designer Series Paper for the first time and this is what I came up with!
The colors used on this card are Sage Shadow, Basic Black, Basic Grey and Whisper White. I used my Stamp a ma jig for the daisy's to get the shadowed look. I tied a piece of the Sage Shadow 1/4" grosgrain ribbon and taped the ends behind it, layering it on top of a Basic Grey Corduroy button with a glue dot.

I got a big shot!!

Man the days just fly by in the summer! I can't seem to keep up, I'm having too much fun in the sun! Since I've abandoned you all a little to long, I'll make it up with a few cards today! This first one is from a challenge I did where you can only use one embellishment and NO layers!! Kinda scary huh! Once I got started it wasn't so bad!
I used the neighborhood wheel and the welcome comes from the Warm Words stamp set. I used the wheel on a piece of scrap Whisper White and colored the house with Stampin' Pastels and cut it out. I used stampin' dimensionals to adhere to the card.
I just recently got the big shot!!! It is so much cooler then I ever could have imagined! I absolutely love it!! This is the first card I made using the big shot and the Elegant Bouquet textured embossing plate. I used a little crystal effects and dazzling diamonds for the flower centers and my white gel pen to make some of the lines pop a little more! I also used a flower from my pretties kit along with a half pearl for the center!
The tutorial to do this card comes from Patty Bennett. Click on her name to see how to make this beautiful card! This Manhattan Impressions Die is just gorgeous and makes last minute cards a breeze!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stampin'!
