Give those old cards another look!

So my sister in law came over the other day and wanted to make a card for her brother...she came to the right place!! After lots of looking at ideas she decided she liked an old card I had made (pictured on the right)  She picked out some colors she liked and went from there!  I love the way it turned out and just had to share it!  Such a simple color change and such a huge difference!  Hers is a great masculine birthday card good for any age, I really like the colors she choose.   What do you think?

Lots of Bots Issues!

As I was working on cards the other day for my Stamp a Stack, I had a heck of a time coming up with this one! I'm happy with what I came up with, it just took a few tries! I thought it'd' be fun to share how things go sometimes!
3rd times a charm! This card uses Taken With Teal, Basic Grey and Whisper White Cardstocks. Night of Navy 1/4" grosgrain ribbon. I used basic grey, taken with teal and night of navy classic inks and water-colored my bot using the ink well on the top of the Ink pad lid.
This was my 1st card attempt and it is ok, but I just don't love it. I was trying to CASE a card from the IB&C and just make it larger, but it just didn't go so great! This card uses Bashful Blue, Basic Grey & Whisper White.
My 2nd attempt, I was going for a bandaid look over on the left although it didn't look as great as I'd pictured in my head! This uses Tangerine Tango, Apricot Appeal and Sage Shadow.

If you do not have the 'NEW' Idea book & Catalog yet, I would love to get one to you! There are just so many wonderful new things in there!

~I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July weekend~

love love love

This is the card I made today for Sudsol's Chat & Challenge, I must have Scarlet & Grey on the mind! I immediately went to Bravo Burgundy and Basic Grey! I had a wonderful day yesterday at the OSU stadium watching my cousin graduate! Although sitting in the blazing sun for 3 hours wasn't the most comfortable, the commencement speaker was THE John Glenn, it was pretty awesome to here his speech and it was a good one! I have never been to the stadium before so that was neat too! My husband is not such a fan...booo! Anyways on with the card...
I can't think of the name of the movie the love love love comes from but I always say it to my husband because it cracked me up so I used it on here by using my markers to color the love on the love you, I can't think of the movie for the life of me. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Now...Relax

Fathers Day is right around the corner and here is what I have made for my dad! I think its pretty manly and sooo him! I'm usually a day before kinda girl or even more likely the day of any occasion I'm rushing about wrapping, crafting and just trying to put something together! I'm so proud of myself for getting this done early!

I kept it easy with this card, Basic Black, Basic Grey and Very Vanilla! I used the Basic Grey DSP from Hostess Patterns Pack II and 4 of the brushed silver brads. I used the tag corner punch to make the tags for the inside and a little linen thread. Roughed up the sides a bit and Water-colored the words! Easy Peasy!

This set is such a great 'man' set! Thanks to my bloggin' star sister Lorita Edwards I was able to see just how fun it is! You see I was telling her how I liked her card and wished I would have got it and she sent me a bunch of stamped images from the set! How nice is that! Check out her card using this set here!
Thank You Lorita!!

Inspired by Sol

I saw this the other day on my bloggin' sister Marisol's blog and just had to try it! So here is my version, you can view the directions from Unique Designs by Lisa. They both made some really cute ones using Cheep Talk! For mine I used Stampin Up's Just Buzzin' by Stamp Set and a retired fathers day greeting. I used To the Nines DSP and used the following colors, Kraft, Yoyo yellow, Chocolate Chip and Summer Sun(flowers).

Masculine Card Challenge!

Hey there fellow stampers!
Here is a card I just submitted for the Late Night Stampers Masculine Card Challenge! I had saw someone somewhere stamp this truck on DSP and I just loved it and had to try it so this is what I came up with, don't you love the 'rope' in back! I used Crystal Effects for the windows, I often draw a blank when it comes to 'man' cards but I finally felt the drive to do one and I'm pretty proud of what I came up with...what'd ya think?
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you all enjoy what's left of the weekend!!

Happy Stampin'!

Bluer then Blue

I needed a larger stash of masculine cards, so this is one I came up with using the Party Hearty Stamp Set and Brocade Blue DSP from the level 1 Hostess paper pack. I also used Brocade Blue & Brilliant Blue Card stock. Brocade Blue Brads and Brilliant Blue Classic Ink.
I love monochromatic cards they are one of my favs! I hope you all are having a wonderful Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Stamping!!

My Husbands Birthday!!

Today is my husband, William's Birthday! What's even greater is that today he is on his way home from Afghanistan!! What a great birthday present! Our kids and I miss him soo much and are just so excited to see him! He'll only be home for a week to take care of me and the kids when I get a minor surgery but I'll take it!!
This is the card I made for him. The picture looks way lighter then it really is, it is actually Always Artichoke and Sahara Sand. I used the To the Nines Designer Series Card-stock, I folded it over to show the other great side and did some heavy distressing around the edges! I did a little stitching with the hemp twine and tied a little on the 'b' from the 'Party Hearty' stamp set. I cut out my b and got the middle with my 3/4" punch and cut out a piece of the same DSP to put in its place. I also used the 1 3/4" punch for the larger Sahara Sand Circle and I used my Always Artichoke marker for the images and my stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the sayings. I wrapped up some chocolate in the same DSP, tied it with the retired SU rope twine and I made a tag with the Sale-a-bration set 'Yummy'. Now hopefully he doesn't get a chance to check my blog on his way home!!
